Our partnerships

At Sanitas, we create strategic partnerships to build an ecosystem of shared value. We work with trusted partners who help us to create a benefit for society as well as to better fulfil our mission. We maintain a close relationship with all of them, which we manage responsibly.

Partnerships that add value

At Sanitas, we place a great value on the positive impact of the partnerships we form with leading organisations with a shared mission to provide quality services to our customers.

EThis agreement allows us to offer a wide and innovative range of insurance products to the bank’s customers. Both companies share the same digital DNA to further deepen their transformation and offer customers innovative products.

The relation between Santalucía and Sanitas grows stronger and has enabled us to offer products together. We have also been able to expand our offer to customers (individuals, SMEs and the self-employed) as well as Funeral-related products.

We have signed an agreement that will strengthen both companies’ position in the healthcare industry. Thanks to this agreement, from 2023 over 137,000 customers with Generali insurance policies will have access to the full range of Sanitas services: access to a medical directory with 49,000 professionals, 240 contracted hospitals and 4,000 contracted medical centres, in addition to our hospital network (three hospitals in Madrid plus one under construction in Valdebebas, and one in Barcelona), 20 multi-specialty medical centres and 16 wellness centres.

With this partnership, we continue to expand tailor-made options for both healthcare and independent dental care under the “Sabadell Protección” programme. Digitalisation offers added value to all segments of the bank, in addition to flexible remuneration plans for small and medium-sized businesses.

Through this partnership, we can distribute our insurance products to more than 500 agents of this company.

Sanitas and Nationale Nederlanden have signed an agreement on Life and Accident Insurance. The Contigo Senior project is aimed at the over 55+year segment.

Through this agreement, we can sell certain oncology products, such as the genetic testing of Foundation Medicine. This will give our customers access to personalised treatment at our hospitals.

Since 2014, the organisation has been selling Sanitas insurance through their own office and Cajasur networks located outside the Basque Country.

The distribution agreement signed in 2012 has been extended this year by co-insuring Abanca’s employee health policy business with ASG (Abanca Seguros Generales).

Suppliers and supply chain

GRI 2-8

Our suppliers and contractors know and respect our policies on transparency and the defence of human and labour rights. At Sanitas, this is considered a major criterion for selecting the suppliers that best meet our requirements.  Suppliers also help us to reduce the negative impact that may result from our daily activities, for example by using renewable energies or reducing plastic and paper consumption.

Supplier Policy

According to our Code of Ethics and Conduct, all our suppliers are governed by the Supplier Policy, which sets the standards for selection, recruitment and management processes, and identifies potential risks.

Suppliers are closely monitored to ensure compliance with standards of fraud, financial solvency, company assessments (characteristics, experience, variables, adherence to the Global Compact, etc.), and the ethics and compliance report.

In 2022, we held regular meetings with our main non-healthcare suppliers to align the company’s procurement strategies with the Net Zero goal for 2040.

Our priority standards include ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 27000 (Information Security Management) and ISO 13485 (Quality In Medical Devices).

96% of our suppliers are based in Spain, which accounts for 97% of our transactions. Furthermore, we do not hire suppliers from countries that do not comply with international human rights standards.  Suppliers are centrally managed through our Supplier Portal, where everything is registered.
